I recently went on a mystery holiday for my sister's 50th birthday. We got Riga. Not somewhere I have ever considered before but OMG what a beautiful place.
Riga, the capital of Latvia, is not only the crown jewel of Latvia but also of the Baltics. Riga’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Riga has more than 600,000 inhabitants, making it the largest city in the Baltic States. There was so much to see from beautiful parks, gorgeous buildings, the river, and some cathedrals.
You may be surprised that I took a fair few photos (As if you ever thought any different!). Of which I shall break down into a few blogs. Starting with just shots of the gorgeous streets of Old Town.
Riga is full of beautiful and varied architecture. From Romanesque to Gothic and Baroque, The Old Town has a remarkable number of architectural monuments. A walk through the streets of the Old Town will be an exciting experience for anyone visiting Riga. If you want to learn more about Old Town click here where the link will send you to the Latvia travel website.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
